MAHAMA WEEPS OVER ‘ROTTEN’ SCHOOLS …And Promises New Zongo Schools

FORMER PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama is sadn over what he called ‘the abandonment of most of the projects started by his government, particularly the 200 Community Day Senior High Schools.

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government was determined to bring secondary education closer to the masses to benefit the citizenry, but was booted out of political office in December, 2016, after completing just a quarter of them.

Mr. Mahama said the Community Secondary School project was geared towards enhancing the promotion of education in the country, and hoped the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government would complete the rest of them for the benefit of the people.

According to him, his dream of bringing secondary education closer to the masses would not fail, and vowed that “I will win power in 2020 and complete the projects”.

The former president again promised that his government, starting from January 2021, would build new Community Day Secondary Schools in the deprived Zongo areas.

“We will complete the remaining Community Day Secondary Schools and also build new ones in the deprived areas, especially the Zongos”, he assured.
