Dancehall star Shatta Wale has criticized the Executive Director of EOCO, Raymond Archer, for inviting him for questioning on a day when the country was mourning a tragic loss.
On Wednesday, 6 August 2025, a Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) helicopter crash claimed the lives of eight people, including two government ministers.
Later that same day, Shatta Wale took to Facebook that same day to express anger over being summoned by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) during such a painful moment for the nation.
In a strongly worded Facebook post, Shatta Wale questioned Archer’s decision to proceed with the summons.
“As our honourable leaders crash and we are mourning for the country, Raymond, you still have that strong heart to let your boy Agyenim call my team to tell me you are inviting me where?”
He added, “Will this Lamborghini car solve our roads that people are dying on for this our beloved country.”
He felt the timing was disrespectful, especially given the loss the country had suffered.
The musician’s frustration followed EOCO’s seizure of his yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which the agency said was linked to a fraud case involving Ghanaian Businessman Nana Kwabena Amuah.
According to EOCO, the car was confiscated based on a directive from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Amuah is currently serving a seven-year sentence in the U.S. for operating a fraud syndicate.
The post drew mixed reactions online. While some supporters agreed with Shatta Wale, others urged him to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation.
As of now, the Lamborghini is still in EOCO’s custody, and the agency has not responded to Shatta Wale’s public statements.
