16 nabbed at Ganja base

SIXTEEN SUSPECTS have been busted by the Manhyia Divisional Police in Kumasi on suspicion of either using or peddling narcotic drugs, which is against the law.

The suspects include Emmanuel Asante, 23, Osman Ibrahim, 27, Issah Ahmed, 27, Robert Addison, 26, Opoku Basoa, 29, Gabriel Yussif 34 and Mohammed Yusif, 31.

The other suspects, who are in police grips, are Aziz Mohammed, 27, Far Iddrisu, 29, Siley Imani, 26, Ali Mohammed, 24, Hahaha Abdul, 33, Abubakar Mohamed, 22.

Also apprehended during the successful police operation includes Rafat Issahaka, 17 years old and Clement Taking, 18 years old and Amadu Awal, 19 years old.

The Manhyia Divisional Police command was informed that some people usually meet and deal in narcotic drugs in some known ghettos in the city so they decided to arrest them on July 17, 2025. They managed to arrest 16 suspects.

“Upon information received to the effect that some youth usually converge at some places within the AOR to deal in illicit drugs, the Manhyia Divisional Headquarters embarked on swoops at these areas on 17/07/25 between the hours of 1800 and 2200.

“Areas visited were Asebi, Asokore Mampong and Akwatia line. Sixteen (16) suspects were arrested together with substances suspected to be nacortic drugs”, the police report, seen by THE NEW PUBLISHER noted.

The 16 arrested suspects, who are currently in police custody, according to the police, would be profiled and screened and those linked to the exhibits will be prosecuted very soon.
