A FAMILY in Ohwim-Akusu in Kumasi has been hit with calamity after two young girls in the family died in their afternoon nap after returning from school.
A police statement, which THE NEW PUBLISHER has sighted, has identified the duo as Akosua Agyeiwaa, aged 4, and Annel Boadu, aged 2,
According to the police, the two innocent girls returned from school full of life around 3pm on February 28, 2025. They then went to bed and didn’t wake up again.
The heartbreaking incident was then reported to the police to investigate.
“On receipt of the complaint, police immediately proceeded to the scene and met the deceased’s grand mother, Patricia Boadu of Ohwim-Akusu, the Medical Superintendent as well as the two deceased kids namely; Friday Akosua Agyeiwaa, aged 4 years and Annel Boadu aged 2 years both pupils of Bantama Adventist School, Amanfrom, lying supine on one of the Hospital’s bed wearing a sea blue top with a sea blue panties and a white singlet with a black panties to match respectively.
“Bodies were carefully inspected and no sign of violence were detected with the exception of a foamy whitish substance coming from the nose of deceased Annel Boadu”, the police disclosed.
It further said “Spot investigations as per the account of the grandmother revealed that both deceased returned from school on 28/02/2025 about 1500 hours, removed their uniforms and went to sleep.
“That same day about 2100 hours she went to their room to wake them up only to find them unresponsive. That she quickly rushed them to the said Health facility for medical treatment but the two were pronounced dead on arrival”.
