Ablekuma Shooting: Gov’t protecting main suspect after killing our son – Family cries out

The family of a thirty-year-old Ibrahim Abass who died from the shooting incident that occurred in the Ablekuma Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region during the just-ended election are calling for justice to be granted.

To the family, the alleged suspect by name Collins Kwaku, also known as Kola is being protected from facing punishment he deserves for shooting their son.

Father of the deceased, Abdul Abass in an interview with Citi News said “Justice must be served for my son. Justice must be served for his dead soul. We the family know everything comes from Allah but we are seeking for justice. It shouldn’t be one of the stories with no results. We don’t want that. The man named as the killer must face sanction and be punished accordingly. It shouldn’t be left unpunished”

He again said while an Accra Circuit Court refused the accused bail, an Accra High Court granted him bail without the knowledge of the family.

The said Collinson Quarcoo is said to be a bodyguard of the Director of Operations at the Jubilee House, Lord Commey and a National Security employee.

Abass was confirmed dead at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment few weeks after the shooting incident during the December 7, 2020 elections.

According to report, the deceased, a journalist with Newswatch Ghana online portal, Pius Asiedu Kwanin among others were shot at the collation center in the constituency at the Odorkor Police Church.
