Ada MP Highlights Progress of Digital Skills Drive In Constituency

Member of Parliament for the Ada Constituency and First Deputy Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, has announced encouraging progress in the implementation of the government’s digital empowerment agenda in Ada, revealing that more than 100 people have already signed up under the ongoing One Million Coders initiative in the constituency.

In a social media update addressed to residents of Ada, the lawmaker disclosed that the program, currently being conducted at the Ada East Community Information Center located at Atortorkope Basic School, is already attracting significant interest from young people, traders, artisans and small business owners eager to acquire digital skills.

According to her, a total of 109 participants have so far registered for the first cohort of the initiative in Ada.

Providing a breakdown of the enrollment figures, the MP explained that 47 participants have opted for practical in-person training at the Ada East Community Information Center, a facility she recently commissioned to promote technology access, innovation and digital learning in the area.

She noted that the remaining participants are being accommodated through online and blended learning systems to ensure wider access and inclusion.

The lawmaker described the initiative as part of broader efforts aimed at preparing residents, particularly young people and entrepreneurs, for opportunities within the evolving digital economy.

Beyond coding training, she also announced the rollout of an additional Internet Business and Digital Marketing Training Program intended to provide practical business-oriented skills to participants.

The program, according to her, will focus on key areas including social media marketing, online business promotion, customer engagement techniques, smartphone business tools and digital communication systems.

The initiative is expected to target approximately 100 additional participants.

The MP encouraged traders, entrepreneurs and youth within the constituency to seize the opportunity and register for the free training program.

She further revealed that discussions are underway to explore support mechanisms that would provide participants with tools and resources after completion of the training to enable them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in practical ways.

Residents and local stakeholders have welcomed the initiative, with some describing it as a timely intervention that could open new pathways for entrepreneurship and job creation within the constituency.

Interested applicants have been encouraged to visit the Ada East Community Information Center to complete registration, which authorities say remains free of charge.
