AfCFTA: AB&David projects more opportunities for businesses in a volatile economy

AB & David Africa, a pan-African business law firm is hopeful that business avenues are likely to spring up for more companies on the continent if the Africa Continental Free Trade Area is optimized.

The Pan African firm maintains that although some businesses have struggled to find their feet even after the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need for stakeholders on the African continent to find innovative ways to maximize profit.

This they believe can be achieved by leveraging on AfCFTA

Speaking at the 9th edition of the Crystal Ball Africa under the theme: “ Africa’s Blue Ocean – Opportunities In a Volatile World” Managing Partner of AB& David, Isabel Boaten, organizers of the Crystal Ball Conference was optimistic about the future fortunes of the African continent.

“With the start of the pilot trading under the AfCFTA, Africa is beginning to see brighter economic prospects as more opportunities open for private sector enterprises,” she said.

“The AfCFTA appears to be converging with other trends including increasing agribusiness, fintech and the adoption of technology. These put Africa at the threshold of new business ecosystem,” she added.

The Plenary session which was moderated by Citi FM/ TV ‘s General Manager, Bernard Avle saw seasoned resource persons from various fields including the Executive Secretary of PURC, Dr. Ishmael Ackah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Ghana Industries, Seth Twum –Akwaboah, Founder of African Brand Warrior, Fatima Alimohammed , Managing Partner of Konfidants , Michael Kottoh and many others who proffered transformational business ideas.
