In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, the Africa Entrepreneurs Alliance has teamed up with the Ghana National Fire Service Ladies Association to provide a free health screening for members of the association.
The initiative, which took place on October 10, 2025 at the Ghana National Fire Service Training Academy, is aimed to promote health and wellness among the brave men and women who risk their lives to protect the nation.
Highlighting the essence of corporate social responsibility, the Founder of Africa Entrepreneurs Alliance, Mrs. Eunice Akosua Amofa Botchwey, expressed her organization’s commitment to giving back to the community.
In her own words, she started, “As part of our corporate social responsibilities, our organization decided to organize a free health screening for some government institutions. We began with the National Ghana Fire Service Ladies, and it has been an amazing day. We brought health personnel who are taking care of their eye health. This is a free consultation because we care about them, especially considering their roles as fire service personnel. We are also preparing towards our main conference this year. We’ve already had community engagements aimed at empowering entrepreneurs. Our main conference is happening on the eighth, and we’ll climax it with dinner and honor night, where we’ll recognize some entrepreneurs who have done exceptionally well for themselves and for Ghana at large.
“On the eighth of November, the conference is happening at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, and on the ninth, we’ll be honoring great entrepreneurs in our nation. We believe that together, entrepreneurship is a way to life. Entrepreneurship is a way to succeed in a community, for the individual, the nation, and the world at large. That’s why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to empower entrepreneurs at every corner of Ghana and Africa at large.
She concluded, “We extend our congratulations to the National Ghana Fire Service Association on their 30th anniversary, and we’re glad to partner with them to organize this free health screening for them for free. We want to say a very big thank you to Eye of Hope Clinic for coming on board and doing this with us.”
The Vice President of the Ghana National Fire Service Ladies Association, ACFOI Faustina Nelson Asiedu, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that it coincided with their 30th-anniversary celebrations and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
She expressed her appreciation for the partnership with Africa Entrepreneurs Alliance, which enabled them to provide a free health screening for their members were they also entertained themselves with sporting activities.
During the event, Dr. Isaac Asare Opoku, an optometrist at Eyes of Hope Vision Centre, emphasized the significance of the programme, pointing out that several staff members had previously unidentified ailments that were discovered during the eye exam.
“It was interesting for us to find some of them who had some conditions they weren’t aware of,” he stated. “And we thank God that through this intervention, they’re not going to go blind, and we’re going to save their sights for them to continue serving our country” he said.
The organizers made it known that the program was a resounding success, bringing together fire officers and representatives from the Africa Entrepreneurs Alliance in a testament to the power of collaboration.
By focusing on the health and wellness of these brave men and women, the partnership acknowledged the critical role they play in serving the community, often under hazardous conditions. With their work exposing them to extreme temperatures, smoke, and other risks, it’s essential that their health, particularly their eye health, is prioritized.
