AGI, Appolonia City Sign Pact to Build Industrial Park

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has signed an agreement with Appolonia City to build an industrial park within the large scale urban development project of the company.

The agreement will see up to 1,000 acres of Appolonia City designated for use by some of Ghana’s leading manufacturing and industrial companies and provide significant employment opportunities for the area.

The CEO of the AGI, Seth Twum Akwaboah was of the view that the signing of the agreement aligns into government’s policy of industrial transformation and, by so doing it will enhance economic activity and growth.

“Signing this agreement, aligns with the government’s drive to establish multipurpose industrial parks in each of the 10 regions of Ghana. We believe Appolonia City is an ideal location and the creation of this park will provide industrial growth, spreading economic activities within Greater Accra and beyond,” he said.

He added that the provision of a special economic status would be of great benefit to the industries and businesses that will be set up within the zone.

The CEO of Appolonia City, Bright Owusu Amofah who was at the signing ceremony said the move to partner AGI in the establishment of an industrial park is to enable businesses have a secure and efficient place to operate.

“AGI is recognized as a leading representative of Ghana’s private sector. Our partnership with AGI means that businesses will now have a dedicated base for their operations within a controlled and secure environment,” he assured.

“We have the appropriate infrastructure at Appolonia City, and we are able to develop build-to suit structures for industrial tenants”.

Appolonia City is expected to have about 88,000 residents on completion and high employment opportunities during construction.

To this end, President Akufo-Addo has indicated his commitment towards the road infrastructure in the area.
