Former Energy Minister, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has extended his congratulations to Mr. John Boadu following his election as the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement issued after the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, Agyarko also congratulated all newly elected National Executives and called for a united front as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
The NPP held its National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on October 4, 2026, where John Boadu emerged as the party’s National Chairman, alongside other newly elected executives.
Agyarko, a former aspirant for the chairmanship, emphasized the need for consolidation following the internal contest. He noted that internal party elections are “family contests among brothers and sisters” rather than battles between adversaries.
“Today, there are no individual victors or vanquished – it is the New Patriotic Party that has emerged victorious,” Agyarko stated. “The election is behind us, and the time for consolidation begins immediately.”
The former minister expressed his readiness to support the newly elected leadership, including Chairman Boadu and the party’s Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He underscored that the party’s primary objective is a decisive victory in the 2028 elections.
“I stand fully and resolutely ready to support Chairman John Boadu, the entire newly elected National Executive Committee, and our Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he said. “Our supreme, non-negotiable objective remains the total, decisive victory of the New Patriotic Party in the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.”
Agyarko expressed gratitude to his campaign team, volunteers, constituency executives, and delegates for their support during the election process. He also commended the NPP National Elections Committee, the Electoral Commission of Ghana, and security services for ensuring a smooth, transparent, and peaceful election.
He urged party members to unite and work together across all 16 regions to return the party to government. “Let us rise together as one indivisible elephant family, united in purpose, discipline, and fellowship,” he concluded.
