Akoo Nana is NOT yet Unto Zylofon Music – Arnold

Over the weekend, news that surprised many enetertainment lovers was the signing of musician Akoo Nana onto Zylofon Music, CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah who is affectionally called NAM1 made the announcement in kasoa over the weekend when he visited chiefs and people of the town.

But it seems to be of something different and not that of how many expected, It turns out musician, Akoo Nana may not be joining Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and co at Zylofon Music as the newest act signed onto the label.

However, the spokesperson for the label, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has cleared the air, saying that based on preliminary discussions that went on between the label and the artiste, Nana Appiah Mensah has offered to lend the musician a management deal, not a record deal.

“We are not signing him onto the label. We are giving him a management deal”, he corrected.

Giving details on what the offer entails, Arnold stated that, the label will be responsible for handling the business aspect of Nana’s career, thus, landing performance gigs and others.

The record label, which has the likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Becca, Obibini, Kumi Guitar and Joyce Blessing announced a three year management deal for the “Amponsah” singer.

At the moment, the contract has not been confirmed, as Akoo’s response is still pending.

Akoo Nana is a Ghanaian Afrobeat musician who dropped his first album, “Afa” in 2007 after having already teased Ghanaians with songs such as Obenewaa, Shordy which featured Castro and Reggy Zippy.Second album “Time to Explode” in 2010 also had Hits like ‘Mugu’, ‘Wasei Ho’ and now his third album has been released titled “M.P” which also has great hits like ‘Mwaii (Wash & Wear)’, ‘Maa Abena’, ‘Akoko Antwiwaa’, which have made and are still making huge impact on the Ghanaian music scene.

His collaborations and various features for renowned artistes also helped improve the young man’s status in the music Industry. He has worked with artistes such as Castro, Reggy Zippy, Trimatic, Zigi, Kofi B, She, Ruff-N-Smooth, Praye and many others.
His popularity and ability to thrill fans has enabled him grace many great stages and achieve many laurels in his short stint in music. He performed at the 2011 Citi FM’s December, Haiti Benefit Concert etc. Due to his hard work he earned nomination for Hiplife Song of the Year in the 2011 Ghana Music Awards.
