Akosua Arhin, a 20-year-old student from the University of Ghana, has won the Miss Malaika Ghana 2025 title.
She beat nine other finalists to claim the crown, a brand-new car, a scholarship, and the ambassadorship for the prestigious pageant.
The coronation took place at the National Theatre on Saturday, November 22nd, after months of intense competition.
The event, themed “Defining the Future,” drew a full audience and showcased a mix of Ghanaian culture, fashion, and intellectual discussion. This edition of Miss Malaika stood out for the high academic and social impact of the contestants.
The final assessments tested the finalists in three key areas:
Cultural Display and Introduction: Contestants highlighted Ghana’s heritage through traditional dress and dance.
Rhetoric and Intellectual Round: The top five contestants discussed current affairs and development issues, showing their ability to think critically and communicate ideas.
Final Q&A (Top 3): The last three were asked about their vision for the Miss Malaika brand and plans for national advocacy.
Akosua impressed the judges with her poise, eloquence, and clear vision for tackling youth unemployment in Ghana. She presented her social project, the “4E Initiative: Empowering Youth Through Enterprise and Education.”
During the Intellectual Round, she noted that while Ghana’s official unemployment rate is 13.4% (Ghana Statistical Service, 2025 Q2), youth unemployment in urban areas can exceed 25%.
Her 4E plan focuses on creating skills training hubs in vocational and digital areas, aiming to train 500 young women in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions within her year of reign.
Akosua received a 2025 model saloon car from a local dealership, a cash prize package worth over GHS 20,000, and a full postgraduate scholarship.
Her commitment to practical social change and her outstanding performance throughout the competition earned her the crown, making her the new face of Miss Malaika Ghana.
