Al Nassr has finally spoken about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future amid growing rumors of his possible departure.
The Saudi team did not perform well in the AFC Champions League, got knocked out of the domestic cup, and missed winning the league title.
This has led to questions about whether Ronaldo will stay or leave.
Fernando Hierro, an executive at Al Nassr, addressed the speculation and gave a clear update on Ronaldo’s contract and the club’s plans.
“Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr runs through the end of June.
We are working on renewing his contract so he can continue with us. Many clubs are interested in signing him, but we’re negotiating with Cristiano. God willing, we’ll find a solution,” Hierro said.
Despite a disappointing season, Ronaldo remains a key figure in Al Nassr’s project. The next few weeks will be important as the club and the player decide on the future.
Hierro also responded to rumors linking Ronaldo to rival Saudi club Al-Hilal, firmly denying any move and emphasizing Ronaldo’s commitment to Al Nassr and Saudi football’s development.
“Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival marked the beginning of a national project for Saudi Arabia. He chose to represent Al Nassr,” Hierro said.
Addressing the social media buzz and misinformation, Hierro said, “I don’t follow social media, but there’s always a lot of misinformation out there. I remain optimistic. I don’t believe Ronaldo will leave Al Nassr. We’re working hard across all areas to build something lasting.”
Al Nassr is planning significant changes after a tough season. Hierro said the club wants to reward its fans and build a stronger team.
“Ronaldo is a global icon who’s helped elevate the league, but this project is bigger than any one player,” he said.
He confirmed that there will be major adjustments involving foreign and local players as the club prepares for the next season.
