Ama Parone apologises over ‘atopa’ video

Kumasi-based female presenter Ama Parone has addressed issues concerning her leaked video.

She apologised to those who feel disappointed while insisting that another video being linked to her is not hers.

In a statement released on July 24, 2026, Ama Parone said she had remained silent in recent days to process the situation before deciding to speak out.

She explained that the video currently circulating, which features her, belongs to her past and does not represent the person she has become.

“The video currently circulating, which features me, is a part of my past — a past I am not proud of. It does not reflect who I am today,” she said.

The presenter apologised to her family, colleagues, fans, mentors and the general public, admitting that she made choices she regrets when she was younger.

“I was younger, naive, and made poor choices that I deeply regret. That chapter of my life closed a long time ago,” she stated.

Ama Parone added that she has since grown and focused on becoming a better person while asking for understanding as she moves forward.

Addressing another video circulating online and being associated with her, she denied being the person in the footage.

According to her, the identity of the person in the second video cannot be confirmed because the face of the individual is not shown.

“That video is not me. The face of the lady in that footage is not shown, and I categorically deny any involvement,” she said.

The presenter also appealed to the public not to attach her name to content she claims she has no connection with.

Ama Parone further expressed support for her godfather, DJ KA, known privately as Rexford Kwaku Ntim, who she described as a major influence in her career.

 

She said DJ KA had supported her journey in the media space and prayed for strength for him during what she described as a difficult period.

“You are not defined by your mistakes, and I know that the man I look up to will come out of this stronger,” she said.

Ending her statement, Ama Parone thanked those who reached out with messages of support and prayers, while condemning people who shared the videos and mocked her.

She said she remains focused on personal growth and becoming a better version of herself.

“I am Ama Parone. I am not perfect. But I am growing, I am learning, and I am determined to become better every single day,” she added.

In related development, MzGee has appealed to women working in the media in Kumasi and across the Ashanti Region to support television personality Ama Parone after a private video involving her and DJ KA circulated on social media.

She urged colleagues to show compassion rather than isolate the broadcaster following the incident.

“Ladies/Women in the Media in Kumasi, Ashanti Region in general, please let’s reach out to the young lady journalist in the leaked sex tape. She needs help, solace and support. The harm has been done, I am sure she’s regretted this, let’s not throw her away. Let’s show her some compassion. DM her number if you have it” she wrote on Facebook.
