Ambulance Distribution Starts January

Government will start the distribution of a new ambulance each to all the 275 constituencies in the country in January 2020.

The Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, made the announcement during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) annual conference on Sunday.

According to him, everything is set for the distribution exercise to commence in January next year so the citizenry should remain calm and hopeful.

Recent Attacks

The presidency recently came under public bashing for its failure to distribute the imported ambulance as people continued to struggle to access healthcare.

This pressing national issue was even discussed during President Nana Akufo-Addo’ recent interaction with some selected top journalists in Accra.

Bawumia’s Assurance

But Dr. Bawumia has assured that everything is set for the distribution exercise of the imported ambulance to commence in the coming days.

The Vice President was of the strong conviction that the distribution of the ambulances would go a long way to help improve healthcare delivery.

Alhaji Dr. Bawumia also said the ambulance would be managed digitally, adding that the digital management system is to ensure efficiency.

“This is the first time in our history as a country. The ambulance would be managed digitally and that technology would lead to efficiency.

“Because of this system, you can sit in Accra and track the ambulance anywhere in Ghana at any given time and this is good for our health system”, he said.

Dr. Bawumia also said through the introduction of the Digital Address System, it would be easier for people to get help whenever they are in trouble.

“From January if you call any of the emergency numbers in times of trouble, your location would be known and help would come to you instantly.

“Ghana is one of the few countries enjoying this unique service”, he said, arguing that the NPP government has worked to reduce suffering in Ghana.
