AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has given a positive update on Antoine Semenyo’s fitness, saying the Ghanaian forward may return for their match against Sunderland.
Semenyo missed Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United last weekend after returning to the club with an injury he picked up while on international duty.
He did not play in Ghana’s second friendly match against South Korea because he got a knock during the earlier game against Japan.
Speaking to the media on Friday, November 28, Iraola explained that Semenyo has slowly returned to training and could be ready to play.
“We still have to train today, but he has been doing modified training with the team the previous days,” Iraola said.
“If everything goes well today, I think he is going to be available for tomorrow, yes,” he added,
Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s best players this season. He has scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 Premier League games, making him a key part of the squad.
