Asare Bediako Welcomes Otumfuo Back Home

TOP CONTENDER for the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman position, Asare Bediako, was among the top dignitaries that welcomed the Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, back home on Saturday.

The Asante Monarch was returning home after travelling to Malta and South Africa, where he had used his enviable throne to woo investors and top businessmen to do business in the country.

People from all walks of life on Saturday made their way to the Kumasi Airport to welcome Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is usually accorded a rousing welcome by the people of Kumasi whenever he returned from an international trip.

Mr. Bediako, an experienced politician who respects Asante tradition was also at the Kumasi Airport to offer a rousing welcome to the Asante Monarch.

Otumfuo was seen beaming with smiles as he shook hands with Mr. Bediako, who has widely been predicted by political experts as the favourite to win the Ashanti Regional NPP chairman position, when the party goes to polls next month.

Mr. Bediako told THE PUBLISHER that this is not the first time that he had welcomed the Asantehene from an international trip, explaining that he loves and cherish Otumfuo and the Golden Stool.

Rumours

Meanwhile, Mr. Bediako’s camp have denied claims of being part of government delegation in the Ashanti region that trooped to the airport to welcome the Asantehene

According to them, Mr. Bediako as a loyal citizen of Asanteman, went to the airport on his own to welcome the King, stressing that speculations that he (Bediako) was part of the government delegation has no basis.

According to them, Mr. Bediako exchanged pleasantries with the Asante monarch just like other people in Kumasi that visited the airport did, only after the government delegation had officially welcomed the Asantehene back home.
