Ashanti gets 2 Covid-19 centers

ASHANTI REGION is set to get two additional COVID-19 Treatment Centers, to help in the fight against the deadly disease.

The Bekwai and Fomena Government Hospitals, which are under construction, would be used as the treatment centers.

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, made the announcement to the media on Monday, when he visited Kumasi.

He said reported cases of COVID -19 was on the rise in the Ashanti Region lately, therefore the need for more treatment centers.

The Bekwai and Fomena Government Hospitals are said to be nearing completion as construction works have be done properly.

The Health Minister said the two projects have reached about 90 percent and he was impressed with the works done so far.

According to him, the two facilities have reached a stage that they could be used as treatment centers to fight the deadly virus.

Kwaku Agyeman Manu announced that latest by ending of July, the two COVID-19 treatment centers would be ready.

The Ashanti Region has been identified as one of the epicentres of the virus, which has been spreading fast in the area.

The virus has claimed some human lives in the Ashanti region, where there have been calls for more treatment centers.
