THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP) is bereaved as a staunch member of the party in Kumasi has kicked the bucket.
The deceased, Kofi Kookoo, had not been well for some time now and gave up the ghost on Sunday morning in Kumasi.
Kofi Kookoo was a known aide of Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka ‘Sir John’, the ex-CEO of Forestry Commission, who died last year.
The deceased was also a dyed-in-the-wool member of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, who played significant roles to help the NPP to win the 2020 polls.
According to some NPP members in the Ashanti Region, Kofi Kookoo’s sudden departure from earth would create big vacuum in the NPP in Kumasi.
Kofi Kookoo loved served the NPP faithfully for many years. He was also said to love the NPP so much that he wouldn’t even mind losing life for the party.
So far, hundreds of NPP faithfuls, especially in the Manhyia South Constituency where he was visible, have taken to social media to mourn Kofi Kookoo.
Kofi Kookoo was said to be fervently preparing to contribute his quota to give Sir John a befitting burial but sadly he couldn’t live to see that day.
