Avoid fake recruitment websites – GIS warns public  

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued a strong warning to the general public to disregard a fake online portal particularly through the website GOLERNERSHUB.COM circulating on social media, purported to be a recruitment platform for the Service.

In a statement released yesterday and signed by Superintendent Michael Amoako-Atta, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration and Head of Public Affairs, the Service described the fraudulent website as a scam designed to extort money from unsuspecting job seekers.

“The Management of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) wishes to alert the general public about a fraudulent recruitment scheme being circulated via the website GOLERNERSHUB.COM, which falsely claims the opening of a protocol recruitment portal” part of the statement reads.

The Service emphasized that all official recruitment exercises are announced through its official website (www.gis.gov.gh), major national newspapers, and accredited media platforms. GIS also reminded the public that under no circumstances should anyone pay money in exchange for recruitment opportunities.

“Furthermore, no official clearance has been given by the Government for any recruitment exercise at this time. The Service assures the public that when recruitment is duly authorized, it will be advertised through the appropriate and credible channels, including the national newspapers and our official platforms” the statement added.

The GIS assured the public that any legitimate recruitment exercise would be officially communicated through credible platforms, including national newspapers and its official channels.

FRAUDULENT RECRUITMENT PORTAL

1. The Management of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) wishes to alert the general public about a fraudulent recruitment scheme being circulated via the website GOLERNERSHUB.COM, which falsely claims the opening of a protocol recruitment portal.
2. The Service wishes to categorically disassociate itself from this false information, and reiterates that the GIS has not engaged any individual, group, or third-party website to conduct recruitment exercises or sell protocol forms on its behalf.
3. Furthermore, no official clearance has been given by the Government for any recruitment exercise at this time. The Service assures the public that when recruitment is duly authorized, it will be advertised through the appropriate and credible channels, including the national newspapers and our official platforms.
4. Our Intelligence Section, in collaboration with other state security agencies, is currently pursuing credible leads to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators behind this fraudulent scheme.
5. The public is hereby strongly advised to disregard and report any communication or solicitation from GOLERNERSHUB.COM or similar unofficial sources. Anyone who engages with such fraudulent entities does so at their own risk.
