Ayawaso East MCE; Abdul Ibrahim Leads Municipal Cleanliness

In a bid to promote a cleaner and healthier environment for its residents, the Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly (AEMA) led by Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim has taken a significant step towards achieving this goal.

On Friday, August 20th, 2025, the assembly embarked on a clean-up exercise that included weeding and sweeping. This initiative is in line with President Mahama’s vision to keep Ghana clean and underscores the assembly’s commitment to environmental sanitation.

The clean-up exercise was well-attended by key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Assembly Members, Unit Committee members, Municipal Environmental Health and Sanitation staff, as well as other supporting staff.

The presence of these officials demonstrates the assembly’s dedication to ensuring a clean and safe environment for its residents.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve drainage and promote a cleaner environment in the municipality. Following the clean-up exercise, subsequent activities included street cleaning and desilting of gutters. These activities were aimed at beautifying the environment, improving drainage, and preventing flooding.

The desilting of gutters is a crucial aspect of the initiative, as it will help to prevent flooding and reduce the risk of waterborne diseases. The assembly’s efforts to improve drainage will also help to reduce the risk of erosion and other environmental hazards.

The Municipal commitment to environmental cleanliness is a testament to its dedication to improving the lives of its residents. The assembly’s efforts to promote a cleaner environment will not only improve the aesthetic appeal of the municipality but also contribute to the health and well-being of its residents.

The Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly’s clean-up exercise was a commendable effort towards promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for its residents.
