Bantama NPP Chairman Dethroned

THE INCUMBENT New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Bantama Constituency in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Fiifi Mensah, has been dethroned.

Fiifi’s hopes of seeking re-election were crushed as he polled 566 votes against his only challenger, Atta Kingsley, who managed to secure 570 valid votes.

As a reminder, the Bantama Constituency was among the few constituencies in the country where the NPP Steering Committee annulled their polls in July.

Fiifi Mensah, who is widely popular in the Bantama Constituency, had hoped to count on his fame to retain his seat, but the party delegates disappointed him.

The other party executives elected in Saturday’s crucial elections included Women’s Organizer, Josephine Ama Pomaa, who polled 572 votes.

The other elected executives are Frank Caleb Boateng (2nd Vice Chairman), Addai Kingsford (Communications Officer), Eric Mensah (Organizer), and Kwadwo Adu (Deputy Secretary).

The remaining elected executives are Vincent Amoabeng (1st Vice Chairman), Vivian Arthur (Treasurer), and Nana Kwabena Boakye Danquah (Youth Organizer).

On behalf of the newly elected executives, Kingsley Atta, the Bantama Constituency NPP Chairman, called for party unity ahead of the 2028 presidential polls.

He said the party can only wrest political power from the ruling NDC when they embrace peace and unity, and called for total support from every party member.

Fiifi Mensah, showing political maturity, accepted defeat when the election results were declared and promised to help the new executives succeed.
