Bawumia Congratulates New Executive, Pledges Inclusive Support

Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Leader and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has congratulated the party’s newly elected national executives after elections held in Kumasi on Saturday.

The elections, described by Dr. Bawumia’s office as peaceful and transparent, completed the NPP’s reorganization ahead of the 2028 presidential election. The outcome reflected the wishes of the party’s delegates, his office said.

Bawumia said the John Boadu-led national executives were expected to begin preparations for the 2028 election. He pledged to provide the necessary support to the new leadership to run an inclusive system that would harness all talents within the party.

“In victory or in defeat, no talent should be left out in the 2028 campaign,” he said.

The NPP leader’s message came a day after the party held the elections in Kumasi to conclude its internal leadership reorganization. The process was seen as a key step in positioning the party for the next national electoral contest.

Bawumia did not disclose the full results or the complete list of elected executives in his message. However, he stressed the importance of unity and broad participation, saying the new leadership should draw on the abilities of all members as the party prepares for 2028.

The election followed a period of internal reorganization within the NPP, which has been preparing its structures for the next presidential and parliamentary elections. Party delegates took part in the Kumasi polls.

With the national executives now in place, attention is expected to shift to the party’s broader campaign preparations and efforts to present a united front ahead of the 2028 vote
