Bawumia helps Kumasi fire victims

THE HUNDREDS of the Friday, March 21, 2025 fire victims at the Blue Light at Adum in Kumasi, have taken delivery of Gh 200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement.

Donated by former Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia on Tuesday, the largesse was intended to help the fire victims to get back into business as soon as possible.

Dr. Bawumia’s who is the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said his heart bleeds for the victims of the blaze, who have lost their livelihoods.

According to him, it’s not easy for someone to lose his-her business in a single day, noting that he hope his donation would help the fire victims to get back on their feet.

Dr. Bawumia therefore appealed to the fire victims to exercise patience and wait for the appropriate authorities to investigate and find out the cue of the inferno.

He also appealed passionately to the rich in society and the well-to-do institutions to support the fire victims, who have lost a lot of money so they could rise again.

Dr. Bawumia said “I’m appealing to private businesses and individuals, who are well-to-do in society to come to the aid to the people, who have been adversely the affected by the fire”.

He also charged the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration to commit to the completion of the Kumasi Central Market project to help boost businesses.

According to him, the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government left political power when the market project was 80 percent complete so the NDC should complete it.

Meanwhile, the traders have wholeheartedly thanked Dr. Bawumia for his benevolent gesture and stated that they would use the money and the cement for its purpose.
