BoG Doing Propaganda – NAM Slams

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, has warned Bank of Ghana not to use his company as a cover up for its inefficiencies.

This follows after BoG issued a statement indicating it will soon take action against the company for engaging in solicitation, and receiving money when it has not been licensed to do so.

According to the Central bank, the conduct of the company contravenes section 6 (1) of the Bank’s specialized deposit-taking institutions Act 2016, (Act 930), and further cautioned the general public against doing business with the company.

However, the business mogul seems not to be moved by the statement.

In a post sighted by The Publisher, he accused the central bank of engaging in propaganda, after sighting the statement.

He also urged the bank to tell Ghanaians the truth about what really happened with the 5 collapsed banks that it duly licensed and supervised for several years.

“Bank of Ghana, now you dey do propaganda? I beg paa tell Ghanaians exactly what happened with the 5 or so collapsed banks you duly licensed and supervised for years. Please don’t attempt to use our dear Menzgold to cover up. I beg make we think!,” he wrote.

Menzgold Ghana Limited is one of Ghana’s most respected independent gold firms and it’s owned by Nana Appiah Mensah.

The company provides market leading advice, valuation, management, brokerage and transaction support to investors, corporate bodies, government departments.
