Boy, 17, Kills Man Over Corn

A YOUNG farmer has lost his life after he was allegedly butchered by a herdsman at Kubesinase near Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, identified as Azaaria Kalaisoma, reportedly confronted the suspect for looking on as his cattle destroyed his (Azaaria’s) maize farm.

But Mahamadu Amadu, the herdsman, would not take any of that. He became so incensed he killed the farmer with a machete.

The lifeless body of the deceased had since been deposited at the morgue, awaiting autopsy, THE PUBLISHER was informed.

The paper has further gathered that Amadu had since been arrested by the police, and would soon be arraigned after investigations are completed.

A source, who disclosed the disturbing story to the paper, described the deceased as a hard-working farmer who lived at Kubesinase.

According to the source,  Azaaria on December 6 this year visited his farm only to see Amadu’s cattle feeding on his ripe maize in the farm.

The angry farmer then confronted Amadu over the issue, but Amadu rather took offence and attacked Azaaria, killing him instantly.

Azaaria’s father, who got wind of the incident, quickly lodged a complaint with the police.

The police then proceeded to the farm and arrested the suspect. They also seized the weapon which he used to commit the crime.
