Boyfriend in court March 17 over lover’s death

SUSPECT DANIEL Tuffuor is due in court on Monday, March 17, 2025 over the death of his girlfriend, Yabane Deladem Aku.

Both suspect and the deceased are students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

Yabane was found dead on KNUST campus on Thursday. Circumstances leading to her death was reportedly captured on CCTV.

Police after watching the CCTV footage apprehended Tuffuor as the prime suspect, leading to his arraignment on Friday.

Tuffuor, who has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and causing harm, appeared in court on Friday looking quiet.

His plea was taken by the Prempeh Assembly Hall District Court, which was packed to capacity on Friday afternoon.

The prosecution team read the facts of the case to the hearing of the judge and all those present in court, including Tuffuor.

The prosecution team then appealed to the judge to remand the suspect into police custody so they could finish their investigations.

The judge agreed with the prosecution team’s request and remanded Tuffuor to police custody to reappear on March 17, 2025.
