C/R: Couple commit suicide over lack of children

A couple who have been married for nine years have committed suicide over their inability to bear children.

Residents of Awutu Papaase Number 2 in the Central region expressed their shock after the unfortunate incident was made public.

The couple are said to have had seven failed pregnancies.

Their bodies were found Monday morning and were deposited at the Swedru government hospital.

Kasoa Ofaankor Police Commander DSP Christopher Darkey confirming the incident to Starr News said the man, known only as Asare was pronounced dead after he was rushed to the hospital.

According to him, the couple likely took some drugs to end their lives after their inability to have a child during their nine year marriage.
