Campaign And Die! Atebubu Traditional Council Tells NDC MP

Former National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin Constituency in the Bono East Region, Sanja Nanja, has been cautioned against engaging in any political activity in the area or be killed by the gods.

The alert follows a ban placed on the former MP by the traditional authorities from engaging in any social or political activity as well as any events organised within the Atebubu Traditional Area.

According to the Council, their decision stems from the former MP’s use of offensive words against the queen mother of the area, Nana Afiah Donyina II for which he has refused to apologize.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News during a ceremony by the traditional rulers of the area, Nana Owusu Akyeaw Brempong II, said the action against the MP was to prevent any calamity the community may suffer should the MP venture into any such activities.

“We have sacrificed a ram to pacify the gods and to purify the community to avert any unforeseen happenings that may arise from his unguarded statements and to ensure peace in the socio-political life of the area,” he said.

The Adikrofuor and queen mothers under the Atebubu Traditional Area have also been warned against receiving Sanja Nanja as a guest who is either visiting or there to campaign in the communities.
