Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has warned people involved in illegal activities to be careful about how they show off their wealth on social media.
In a Facebook post shared on December 14, 2025, the “Street Crown” singer advised those making money through unlawful means while encouraging legally earning individuals to inspire others by sharing their success.
“If you make money legally like Shatta Wale, don’t be afraid to show others the way. But if the money is illegal, be careful. Ghetto youth, if you joke with it, they will wipe you out… Adey tell you!” he said.
Shatta Wale also reflected on his own life, saying that his wealth and success often attract envy. He noted that he has achieved a lot at a young age but stressed that his achievements come from hard work and music, not illegal activities.
“A life like this, as a young man, is enviable, I know. But na God use music take do am. I am sorry,” he added.
His comments come amid increasing discussions on social media linking him to alleged fraud cases, following recent arrests by the FBI and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) of people accused of online scams and romance fraud.
Earlier, Shatta Wale had also publicly denied any involvement in illegal activities. During his performance at the BYK Concert held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, December 13, 2025, he addressed the allegations directly.
While performing his hit song Prove You Wrong, he told the audience that his success is the result of consistent effort in music, not fraud.
“Me, Shatta Wale, I don’t do fraud!. I don’t do anything illegal. So anything you will do, I stand before God and curse you out,” he declared.
Shatta Wale’s statements underline his intention to distance himself from fraudulent activities while encouraging young people to pursue legal means of making money.
