ONE OF the two persons that were severely injured, after a trailer ran over them at Anloga Junction in Kumasi, has died.
The deceased has been identified as Solomon Antwi, and he was believed to be a trader at the crash scene.
A trailer, fully laden with cement, ran over many people on Thursday, after it developed a brake fault.
Antwi and another victim (a female) suffered life-threatening injuries after the heavy trailer trapped them for some time.
The two were eventually retrieved from under the trailer, through the help of some Good Samaritans, and sent to the hospital.
The accident caused heavy vehicular traffic on the main Kumasi/Accra highway for several hours.
Reports over the weekend say Antwi gave up the ghost at the hospital, after his already critical situation further worsened.
The other victim, said to be a 23-year old lady, also in critical condition, is receiving treatment.
Sources told the paper that medical doctors are working around the clock to save the remaining injured persons.
