Charlotte Oduro: My Daughters Will Never Marry Pastors

Ghanaian marriage counsellor Charlotte Oduro has firmly stated that her daughters will not marry pastors.

Speaking during a church service, she declared that she has no intention of allowing either of her two daughters to enter pastoral marriages.

“I have two daughters, and neither of them will marry a pastor,” she said emphatically, igniting widespread discussions on social media and among religious groups.

Counsellor Oduro, who was previously married to a pastor, has often spoken about the struggles of being a pastor’s wife. She has openly shared her experiences, highlighting the difficulties she faced in her marriage and ministry. Her statement carries weight, given her firsthand knowledge of the challenges involved.

While some people commend her for being realistic about the burdens of pastoral marriage, others believe she may be limiting her daughters’ choices.

Her statement comes shortly after the General Overseer of the Royal Victory Family Church, Apostle Solomon Oduro, officially confirmed their divorce.

In a press release dated Monday, February 10, 2025, Apostle Oduro announced that they had been separated for three years, with their traditional marriage formally ending in 2024.

“With a deep sense of responsibility and solemn reflection, I officially announce the dissolution of my marriage to Reverend Charlotte Oduro. This decision was reached after much prayer, discussion, and careful consideration,” the statement read.

He attributed the split to irreconcilable differences, despite several reconciliation attempts. He stressed that they made the decision after years of reflection and spiritual guidance.

Both Reverend Charlotte Oduro and Apostle Solomon Oduro have requested prayers and support as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
