Charterhouse Announces New Venue for 2026 TGMA

Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have moved the venue for the 27th edition of the event from the Palms Convention Centre to the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The organisers announced the change in a statement issued on Tuesday, May 5, by Charterhouse Productions. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

According to the organisers, the decision was made to match the growing size and production demands of the awards. They explained that the new venue will help improve the overall experience for both guests and viewers.

“The move to the Grand Arena reflects the evolving scale and production ambition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards. With its expansive capacity, advanced technical infrastructure, and enhanced production flexibility, the Grand Arena offers the ideal environment to deliver the world-class experience that audiences have come to expect,” Charterhouse explained.

They further noted that the Grand Arena, which has hosted the awards since 2019, is better suited for the stage performances, broadcasting needs, and audience engagement that the event requires.

“The venue is purpose-built to support the dynamic staging, broadcast, and audience engagement requirements that define the awards,” the statement added.

Charterhouse also expressed gratitude to key stakeholders supporting the event. They thanked headline sponsor Telecel Ghana, the Government of Ghana, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continued backing.

The organisers extended an invitation to all nominees, music industry players, and the general public to attend what they described as a memorable night celebrating Ghanaian music, culture, and its global impact.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards remains one of the country’s most prestigious entertainment events, honouring excellence, creativity, and innovation in the music industry each year.

VENUE UPDATE: 27TH TELECEL GHANA MUSIC AWARDS

Charterhouse Productions, organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), wishes to formally inform all stakeholders, partners, nominees, and the general public of an update regarding the venue for the 27th edition of the awards.

While the event was initially scheduled to be hosted at the Palms Convention Centre, we are pleased to announce that this year’s ceremony will now take place at the Grand Arena, within the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday 9th May, 2026 from 7pm.

With its expansive capacity, advanced technical infrastructure, and enhanced production flexibility, the Grand Arena offers the ideal environment to deliver the world-class experience that audiences have come to expect.

As the home of the TGMA since 2019, the venue is purpose-built to support the dynamic staging, broadcast, and audience engagement requirements that define the awards.
