‘Come Face Me At Elections’ …Subin MP Dares Critics

THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin Constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi, says he is the most suitable person to represent the constituency in the august House in 2021.

He has therefore thrown a challenge to anybody who wants to unseat him as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the 2020 polls, to face him at upcoming primaries.

According to the outspoken legislator, he had exhibited clear competence and visionary leadership in the last four years as MP, and had the confidence that nobody would be able to dethrone him at the coming parliamentary primaries.

“Face me at the upcoming NPP Subin Constituency elections if you think you can unseat me”, he said in a challenge to critics on Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

Verbal Attacks

The lawmaker’s comments came minutes after several residents, who claimed to be NPP members, had called into the station’s morning show programme on Tuesday to lambast him.

The callers claimed party had suffered visible cracks in the constituency because of Hon. Antwi’s actions, but the MP, who sounded unperturbed despite the harsh attacks, said anyone that doesn’t approve of his leadership qualities should prepare to face him at the primaries.

“It is not about calling on radio to make unfounded allegations against me. If you are a man come face me at elections”, he stated, adding that majority of the NPP delegates at subin, support him.

According to him, he had done more than enough to provide jobs for the youths, lights to illuminate the townships and also ensured total transformation of the constituency.
