Cuban Health Professionals Support Savelugu

Members of the Cuban Trained Association known as Cubanitos-Nortenos have provided free healthcare to residents of the Bunglung community in the Savelugu Municipality of the Northern Region.

People suffering from hypertension, worm infestation, malaria, diabetes and pregnancy complicated issues were taken care of.

Also, the beneficiaries including children, the aged and pregnant women received free medicine for various chronic diseases.

Indigenous Ghanaian pharmaceutical retailers comprising Gina Pharmacy, Orbasy Pharmacy and Chamalt Pharmacy and Medicare supported the outreach program.

The team’s leader, Dr Evans Nsoh Ayamdoo explained that Bunglung was selected because of its deprivation.

According to him, the team will extend it’s services to deprived communities in appreciation of Ghana government’s investment in their study abroad.

Assemblyman for the Bunglung Electoral Area commended the team for its kind gesture.

He lamented the lack of professional and skilled personnel needed to put to good use the CHPS compound there.

Mr Aremeyaw appealed to the Savelugu Municipal Assembly to connect electricity to the CHPS compound.
