DapsCnect is using AI and data to add US$10+ trillion to Africa’s GDP

DapsCnect hopes to solve data errors by deploying novel AI-powered mobile and web ecosystems, to structure hitherto unstructured data, and use proprietary AI to clean up to 99.99% of errors hitherto unresolved.

Snippet: Bad data or data errors costs the government of Ghana, companies and institutions in the country, and individuals, billions of US dollars annually and unlimited lost opportunities. DapsCnect hopes to solve data errors by deploying novel AI-powered mobile and web ecosystems, to structure hitherto unstructured data, and use proprietary AI to clean up to 99.99% of data errors hitherto unresolved. DapsCnect will then leverage AI and the clean data to connect several hundreds of verified opportunities to each Ghanaian, help each firm or institution to generate substantial revenue from sources hitherto ignored, drop unemployment to significantly low single digit rate, and help add more that US$240 billion to projected GDP in the next 10 years.

Problem

US$10.17 trillion! What if I told you that is the predicted cost of data errors in Africa over just the next ten years. Take Ghana for example, data errors could wipe out nearly US$25 billion from our GDP annually. And for a larger economy like South Africa, that figure balloons to over US$120 billion per year. How in the world do you even begin to fix it? Well, the answer is a tech firm called DapsCnect. In the age of AI, data is at the core of nearly all systems, but existing data [for firms, state institutions, the state, and individuals in Africa] are of poor quality due to data errors. Added, existing big data on individuals, [small, medium and large] firms, state institutions, and the state are unstructured and very difficult to leverage for localized AI-powered solutions. In the age of AI, even one erroneous character in a dataset can cause [small, medium or large] firms to lose a fortune.

  • At the country level, data errors cost each country [in Africa] a fortune estimated to be 10-30% of GDP annually.
  • At the firm and/or institutional level, data errors cost each firm a fortune estimated to be 10-30% of revenue annually.
  • At the individual level, even one erroneous character in the relevant data of an individual can negatively affect the person permanently.

Impact of Data Errors on Firms and Countries

The following are sampled articles on estimates of how much data errors cost firms annually and the dangers of not resolving it:

The 10-30% loss in revenue is also applicable to nations. As such the following estimates apply.

  • It can be argued that for the 2024 economic year, based on GDP of US$82.83 billion, Ghana lost US$8.28-24.85 billion in GDP due to data errors; i.e., Ghana would lose up to US$248.5 billion in the next 10 years. Thus, a timely implementation of the DapsCnect AI-powered technology will help add US$248.5 billion to Ghana’s GDP hitherto lost due to data errors.
  • Likewise, based on GDP of US$401 billion, South Africa lost US$40.1-120.3 billion in GDP for 2024 due to data errors; i.e., the rainbow nation would lose up to US$1.203 trillion in the next 10 years.
  • With an estimated US$3.39 trillion in GDP for Africa for 2024, the 10-30% threshold shows that Africa lost US$339 billion to US$1.017 trillion in GDP for 2024 only. If the upper limit is assumed to be constant year-on-year, unresolved data errors will cost nations in Africa [cumulatively] US$10.17 trillion in GDP for the next ten years.

DapsCnect: A Sustainable Solution to Data Errors

DapsCnect, with our proprietary mobile and web applications, are pioneering the development and implementation of proprietary AI and AI-powered ecosystems to:

  1. structure existing unstructured data;
  2. expand relevant data points and minimize up to 99.99% of data errors [even at the character level]; and
  3. leverage the resulting clean data for AI-powered data-driven applications for Africans.

DapsCnect has started with Ghana with ready-to-market (a) mobile app for individual users and (b) web app for firms, institutions and the state. Read more on or try DapsCnect at:

Note: For those who try our proprietary AI products DapsAI or Doracle, note that the tokens for the freemium versions are capped; as such, not all data errors detected by the AI will be reported. For corporate users, DapsCnect can arrange a demo. For individual users, download, install and sign up to the DapsCnect app, then proceed to explore.

Profile of DapsCnect

  • DapsCnect is a technology company that specializes in building/deploying proprietary AI to minimize up to 99.99% of errors in data [for institutions, businesses and the state], and utilize the error-minimized data for efficient AI-powered applications.
  • DapsCnect’s proprietary web and/or mobile ecosystem [i.e., DapsCnect] and AI products [i.e., DapsAI and/or Doracle] are unique from existing data cleaning technologies because we consider every interest of all the stakeholders of a data; i.e., the owner, controller, and user.
  • DapsCnect is legally registered in Ghana and the US, and licensed by the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
  • DapsCnect has legally filed for a trademark in South Africa.
  • The co-founders and other team of experts that run DapsCnect jointly have more than 70 years of relevant research and practical experiences from MIT-Harvard (US), Stanford (US), UESTC (China), ANZ (Australia and New Zealand), NatWest (UK), UnitedHealth (US), Kaggle, Google (US), Microsoft (US), IPR (Ghana), KNUST (Ghana), GIMPA (Ghana), Takoradi Technical University (Ghana), etc. The team have jointly processed over 10 billion data points in their professional careers.

DapsCnect’s Products

  • For individual users, DapsCnect has a comprehensive [expandable] mobile application ecosystem that is capable of capturing, cleaning, storing and utilizing up to 99% of relevant data points of each individual for a lifetime. With the user’s permission, the clean data will be used to connect up to 1000 opportunities that interest the user; be it scholarship abroad, study abroad, work abroad, connecting with verified investors, etc. The mobile application, DapsCnect, can be downloaded from the Google Play Store (for Android users) and the Apple App Store (for iOS users).
  • For firms, institutions and states, DapsCnect is helping to transform the software and data ecosystem into a comprehensive, real-time, well-integrated, ethics-abiding, AI-supported system that is free from nearly all the weaknesses of existing systems. DapsCnect has built, tested and deployed a web application in addition to the mobile application for firms, institutions and state. DapsCnect is ready to help each firm, institution and/or state to [in no order]:
  • build proprietary AI-powered [web and mobile] technology products for specific or localized solutions.
  • minimize up to 99.99% of errors in the data of customers or users, plus other datasets that are used for decision-making.
  • structure or restructure big data [of current, past and future customers/users plus other datasets that the firm/institution/state needs to clean] to be AI-friendly.
  • gather and clean other relevant data points hitherto ignored.

The support that DapsCnect provides both (i) individual users and (ii) firms, institutions and states, is summarized in the figure below.

DapsCnect is unique from existing data cleaning technologies because it is designed to consider and inculcate the interests of all data stakeholders. Refer to the figure below for details.
