Delegates Fall for Ntim
The front runner for the National Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Stephen Ntim has ended the first phase of the retail campaign tour in the lead up to the national executive’s election in July.
Mr. Ntim started the nationwide tour from Greater Accra where he touched base with all the constituencies in the region ostensibly to campaign and also find out from the executives ways of improving the fortunes of the party.
Whiles in the region, he received an overwhelming endorsement from the delegates further boosting his already pole position.
This was given credence when all constituencies he visited in the region, resonated with the slogan that the time was ripe for him to take over the mantle of leadership in the party.
In the Eastern Region where he also toured all the constituencies from Akuapem South to Lower West Akim, the show of support with believe that the aspirant has worked enough and thus deserves the position of National Chairman of the party was manifested at the various areas he toured.
In Central Region, the show of support was overwhelming and the delegates were excited he visited their constituencies to know on firsthand the problems of the party at the local level.
In the Volta Region Mr. Ntim enumerated a number of policies expected to change the face of the party when he becomes the Chairman and had fruitful interactions with the delegates of the party in the Western Region.
In the Brong Ahafo, which happens to be his home region, the general feeling among the delegates was that the region has never produced a Chairman of the party and were poised to support Ntim to break that record.
In Ashanti Region, he received blessings from the King of Ashanti, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and also wished him well. He further went on to meet all the delegates in the region as he toured the region.
He ended his retail campaign in the Northern Region after visiting the constituencies in Upper West and East.
According to the delegates in the three Northern regions, long service, dedication to duty and commitment pays in NPP.
Mr Ntim enumerated a number of projects he intends embarking on when elected into the position; categorizing them into five main areas including power in 2020 and beyond, empowering the executives, welfare for the elected executives and the institution of quarterly visitations of the elders of the party as a form of recognition.
He also reiterated his commitment in ensuring each constituency of the party has a well funished party office for party work. He started the project whiles serving as the first vice chairman and would ensure it full implementation when elected as the Chairman. He also encouraged the delegates to keep faith with the government to ensure victory 2020 and beyond.
