Dig Up Daddy Lumba’s Corpse …Gborbu Wulomor’s Palace Orders

Rev. Dr. Daniel Nii Gyasi Ankrah, Administrator at the office of the Nungua Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, Wor Lumor Konor Borketty Lawch Tsuru Spiritual Overlord of the GaDanene State, has demanded the immediate and unconditional exhumation of the body of late music legend, Daddy Lumba, who was reportedly buried at his East Legon residence.

Rev. Ankrah declared that the burial of the late musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, at a private resident on Nungua is not permissible and that the body must be exhumed after which the requisite pacification rites would commence.

“Regarding the illegal burial of Daddy Lumba in the soil of Nungua, it is not permissible. That very body must be exhumed, and the place for it, must be taken to”, Rev. Ankrah stated at a media briefing in Nungua on  Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Also, Rev. Ankrah clarified that the GaDangme leadership has dismissed claims suggesting it received incentives from the late Highlife legend’s family to drop the case concerning the alleged unauthorized burial on Ga land, Nungua to be precise. He stated that the Nungua Traditional leadership has taken note of allegations that cows, cattle, and other items, as well as money, were given to influence the matter.

“We have information coming from various angles. People are alleging that cows, cattle, and other items have been given to the traditional leaders of Nungua. Some are also alleging that money has been given to Nungua concerning this very matter of the burial of Daddy Lumba in the soil of Nungua,” Rev. Ankrah said.

He emphasized that the Lumba family has not provided any form of donation or inducement. “We don’t know of these things. What we are saying is that noting, the family of Daddy Lumba has not donated any cows, bulls, or whatever, nothing has been done. We haven’t seen them yet,” he added.

In a video recording of the press interaction, a journalist asked about the PRO of the Abusuanpayin, Daddy Lumba’s Abusuanpayin, who was reportedly stripped of the position, named Ebenezer, alleging that he had given money to the Ga-Adangbe Council.

Responding, Mr. Ankrah said: “We are going to say that this very person, legally, we are going to take him on, and we want the press to capture that, because the one who accepted the money, and to whom the money was given, must identify that person.”

Meanwhile, Victor Kofi Owusu, also known as Abusuapanyin Tupac, the head of the Lumba family, was formally summoned by the GaDangme traditional authorities. The summons, issued by Wor Lumor Konor Nuumo Borkete Laweh Tsuru, the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse and Spiritual Overlord of the GaDangme State, requested his appearance at the Nungua Palace on March 13, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.

The notice indicated that his appearance was necessary to address public concerns regarding the alleged burial of Daddy Lumba at his private residence in East Legon, Accra. However, on the scheduled date, neither the family head nor any representative of the late musician attended, raising further questions about the handling of the burial issue.

The palace has assured that it will continue to investigate the matter and will keep the public and the press informed once official actions are finalized.

As of the time of reporting, the family of the late legend Daddy Lumba was yet to respond to this.
