Digital Corp Applauds Gov’t Over Use Of Technology To Fight COVID-19

The Digital Corp, a group of digital workers, has commended the government of Ghana for using digital technology in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

On Tuesday April 7, 2020 the Minister of Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, announced that the team of health workers who are partaking in the enhanced testing for COVID-19 are using digital technology to transmit results of the laboratory tests.

He explained that the Vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been leading the efforts to put in place the digital platforms which make it easier for the field health workers to transmit the lab results in real time.

Mr Oppong Nkrumah said: “The Vice President chairs daily monitoring meetings that bring in more data. He has also been leading the efforts to put in place a digital platform that allows those who are doing contact tracing to share with us the data on what is happening in real time on the ground and connect it to those who are running samples in the labs.”

Reacting to this in a statement issued by a Director of Digital Corps, Kelly Nii Lartey Mensah on Tuesday, the group said : “We commend the government for using digital technology in the fight against COVOD-19. COVODI-19 is novel as we all know it hence we need an enhanced technology to deal with it.
