Diogo Jota, Andre Silva honored with special kit

Portuguese club Gondomar SC has unveiled a powerful tribute to two of its most beloved sons; Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva by dedicating their entire 2025/26 season kits to their memory.

Jota, 28, and Silva, 25, tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Spain earlier this month. Both brothers hailed from Gondomar, a town just outside Porto, where their football journeys began.

In an emotional gesture, Gondomar SC has placed the images of Jota and Silva on the front of their home, away, and third kits. Their names also appear on the back beneath an infinity symbol symbolizing their eternal connection to the club.

“More than a jersey, a tribute eternal,” the fourth-tier Portuguese side posted.
“Every time our players step onto the pitch, they’re stepping out with Diogo and Andre.”

The club also called the brothers “sons of Gondomar who left too soon, but will live forever in our football history.”

Gondomar SC named its youth academy after Diogo Jota in 2022, recognizing his journey from the local pitches to the heights of European football.

Meanwhile, English giants Liverpool have retired Jota’s iconic number 20 shirt and announced plans for a memorial sculpture to honour both him and his brother.

A special “Forever 20” emblem will also be printed on Liverpool’s kits next season.
