Doctor suspended for disclosing Kuami Eugene’s health

Dr. Amina Haarun, a medical practitioner, issued an apology for her remarks on social media regarding musician Kuami Eugene’s hospitalization at her workplace.

Following the artist’s accident, Dr. Haarun posted an update stating his condition was dire and urged the public to pray for him.

However, in a subsequently shared press release on social media, she acknowledged breaching ethical guidelines. Dr. Haarun expressed regret for causing inconvenience and impacting her team’s performance. The apology aimed to address her actions’ repercussions and uphold professional standards.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and understand the seriousness of the matter. I am highly regretful of the inconvenience caused to the patient due to my violation of our “code of ethics”. Mistakes are made for lessons to be learnt, henceforth, I will not repeat such mistakes in the future and I am trying my best to solve this as soon as possible,” she wrote.

“I accept the consequences of both my license being suspended for three months, and will gladly serve my punishment by staying away from any Hospital facility unless called,” Dr Haarun added.

Kuami Eugene was in a car accident near the DSTV office, according to Emmanuel Ajarfor Abugri of Modern Ghana.

A tipper truck, moving slowly, was hit by Eugene’s car from behind around 11:30 pm. Abugri attributed the accident to poor visibility on the dark N1 highway and the tipper truck’s lack of tail lights.

He praised Eugene’s cautious driving, stating the accident could have been fatal. Abugri and other motorists helped transport Eugene and his passenger to the hospital.
