Eastern Region Takes Steps to Boost Tourism Potential

The Nkosuohene of Akyem-Moseaso, Nana Dwomoh Brobbey, has called for stronger public-private partnership to develop the immense tourism potential of the Eastern Region.

He said this was vital to the creation of jobs and wealth for the people, particularly the youth.

Nana Brobbey, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capital View Hotels Limited, was presenting a cheque for GH₵25,430.00 in support of the regional tourism awards night.

The event would take place on Saturday, February 24, at the Mac-Dic Royal Event Park in Koforidua.

This is part of the aggressive push to promote tourism in the region and would be used by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to recognize and reward distinguished performance.

Nana Brobbey encouraged investors to put their money in the sector, saying it was rewarding.

He added that tourism was high economic earner that could drive other sectors of the economy to make things better for the population.

Mr. Frederick Adjei-Rudolph, Regional Manager of the GTA, said the awards would be in 26 categories.
