ECG apologizes over Monday dumsor in Kumasi

THE ELECTRICITY Company of Ghana (ECG) has disclosed that the frequent power outages in Kumasi on Monday night was not intentional but due to technical challenges beyond the immediate control of the company.

Mr. Eramus Kyere-Baidoo, the Ashanti Regional ECG Communications Manager, posted on social media that the outages were caused by some load transfers.

The ECG, he noted, indeed was were aware that the frequent power outages caused huge discomfort for the people so they regret and duly apologise.

“We apologise for the outages that occurred in the night due to some load transfers which was done to manage the load”, he indicated on social media.

Mr. Baidoo stated that “The inconveniences caused is deeply regretted”, pointing out that the ECG always seeks to serve their customers better.

Aside the Monday challenges, he said the ECG was on Tuesday still encountering some technical challenges in Fumesua that required immediate attention.

“Further to the technical challenges we encountered yesterday, another one has occurred again around Fumesua which will requires a shut down in order to attend to it”.
