Ed Edinkrah appointed CEO of Miss Ghana UK Foundation

Following discussions and broader consultations, the directors and stakeholders of Miss Ghana UK have announced the appointment of Ed Edinkrah as the CEO of the Foundation.

The new and first CEO is now part of the executive team which runs the Foundation’s activities. Mr Ed Edinkrah will be involved in all executive matters and have full oversight of the Foundation and other related subsidiaries.

The Miss Ghana UK brand has been in existence for over two decades and has been running a charitable foundation which was established to officially continue its not-for-profit duty to the deprived in society. The Miss Ghana UK Foundation was launched 16 years ago and has been registered to operate as a non-governmental organisation to expand its contribution to the betterment of deprived Ghanaians locally and internationally.

Ed Edinkrah, who has served in various capacities in the arts, culture and entertainment industry and has over fifteen years of experience (locally and internationally), was singled out due to his professionalism, philanthropy, transparency, accountability and his respect for equitability.

He has contributed generously to the activities of the Miss Ghana UK brand “as well as the Foundation” before his appointment. The entire body of the organisation undoubtedly deems him fit for purpose,” the organisation said in a statement.

Upon accepting this position, Mr. Edinkrah mentioned how humbling it is, to be in a position that assists in helping, giving hope, and contributing to the deprived in our communities. He expressed his gratitude to the directors and stakeholders and promised to perform his duties to the best of his ability.

He also mentioned that his intentions are to “Develop the socio-human capital of Ghana by improving the quality of people’s lives through appropriate and sustainable social interventions in identified areas, have a broad community impact and support national and international development priorities.”

H will also “Scout for volunteers to support the policies of the foundation, Help in mobilizing and soliciting for funds to effectively support the activities of the foundation as well as engage Parliamentarians, government, business individuals and other NGOs to partner for specific projects.”

Prior to the appointment, Mr. Edinkrah organised a meeting for the Miss Ghana UK delegation and the Ledzekoko MP, Dr. Okoe Boye, to discuss series of projects the Foundation is envisaging to collaborate with MPs to execute in various constituencies.

Mr. Edinkrah also met the Wayamo Africa Director, Joseph Roberts-Mensah and Evans Mensah, an author and philanthropist and a speaker from the USA and a senior lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Dr. Camynta Baezie to introduce his intentions to get them to support the Foundation.

Based on this comprehensive plan to build the human capital and harness all resources to ensure there is sustenance for the agenda of the Foundation and to create awareness, Mr Edinkrah started scouting for team members and volunteers to assist the Foundation in most of the projects.

“The names we have so far are; Forgive Amedeka, Writer, Journalist, Expert television programmes producer, Television director and documentary Expert as well as Gabriel Yaw Wilson, Business Man, Mining Expert and a Philanthropist,” he disclosed.

Mr. Edinkrah said, he is still working on selecting the best human resource to join them to deliver seamlessly on his mandate.
