Sony Music Publishing (SMP) West Africa has announced Ghanaian rapper EL as its newest signee.
The company shared the news on Instagram, on February 10, 2026, saying:

E.L is a multi-talented Ghanaian musician, widely recognised for his impact across both local and international entertainment scenes.
He has received several accolades, including Artist of the Year at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, and has earned nominations from prestigious platforms such as the MTV Africa Awards.

In its post, SMP highlighted EL’s achievements, including his 2016 Vodafone (now Telecel) Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’ title, among others.
EL, whose real name is Elom Adablah, shared a video expressing his excitement and gratitude. “I’m the newest member of the Sony Music Publishing family. I’m so excited and I feel so blessed. Thank you all for holding me down. Looking forward to straight-up new music,” he said.
His signing comes as part of SMP’s efforts to expand its presence across Africa. The company described EL’s addition as a step in its strategy for “ongoing acceleration in its global African footprint.”
EL now joins a growing list of African artists under SMP, including Nigerian stars Wizkid and Tems, and Ghanaian acts Sarkodie, MOG Beatz, and D-Black. These artists work with SMP to distribute their music worldwide.
With EL on board, SMP continues to strengthen its African roster, supporting artists in sharing their music globally while boosting the company’s influence across the continent.
