Eric Adjei Graduates From Law School …Expresses Gratitude To Sammy Gyamfi, Others

A notable milestone was marked over the weekend as Mr. Eric Adjei, a rising figure within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), officially graduated from the Ghana School of Law, earning his professional qualification as a lawyer.

The occasion, filled with joy and pride, was not just a personal achievement for Mr. Adjei but also a significant moment for many within the NDC who have followed his political and academic journey over the years.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media shortly after the graduation ceremony, Mr. Eric Adjei ESQ., expressed deep gratitude to several individuals who played pivotal roles in his journey, notably Sammy Gyamfi Esq., Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod.

Today marks a dream fulfilled, and I am deeply grateful to God and to all those who made this possible. I want to especially thank my senior brother and friend, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, whose encouragement and support have been immeasurable throughout this journey,” he indicated in an exclusive interview with The New Publisher.

Mr. Adjei’s message went beyond personal thanks to highlight the value of mentorship and solidarity within the party and among young professionals in Ghana. He credited Lawyer Gyamfi not only for his legal inspiration but also for the moral and emotional support he provided during trying moments in his legal education.

Several party faithful, colleagues, and supporters took to social media to congratulate the newly minted lawyer, applauding his perseverance and dedication. His graduation comes at a time when the NDC is actively encouraging the development of young intellectuals within its fold to take up leadership roles and serve the nation in various capacities.

Eric Adjei has long been known for his vocal presence in political discourse, particularly on radio and television platforms where he has represented the NDC with passion and clarity. His entry into the legal fraternity is expected to add a new layer to his public service and political engagement.

Many see his latest achievement as a testament to the idea that with hard work, commitment, and the right support system, young people can rise above limitations to reach their full potential.

In concluding his statement, Mr. Adjei reaffirmed his commitment to justice, truth, and service to country, vowing to use his legal training to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ghana’s democratic and legal systems.

He added, “Becoming a lawyer is not just a personal dream come true, but a call to serve the vulnerable, defend the voiceless, and uphold the law without fear or favour,”.

Late Ernest Kumi

Mr. Eric Adjei Esq., further paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend, Ernest Yaw Kumi, the former Member of Parliament for Akwatia.

Adjei, who was among the 824 newly called lawyers on Friday, October 10, 2025, dedicated his milestone achievement at the Ghana Bar to Kumi’s memory.

While many around him smiled and posed for pictures in their black robes, Mr. Adjei’s joy carried a deep sense of sorrow.

Speaking with emotion, he described his joy as bittersweet; proud of his new professional chapter but deeply saddened that his close companion was not alive to share it with him.

“I’m excited but I’m a bit sad. During the preparation for the exams, my best friend Ernest Kumi, Akwatia MP, and I were all staying at GIMPA together, and we normally used the same car for the exams. It’s rather unfortunate that he also passed the papers, but today he is not alive. So, wherever he is, may the good Lord keep his soul for me,” he told GhanaWeb.

Adjei’s relationship with the late lawmaker went beyond the walls of the classroom and political office. They were study partners, colleagues, and brothers at heart. Recalling their time at the Ghana School of Law, Adjei noted that Kumi’s death, which occurred shortly before their final results were released, was a devastating blow.

He said their shared struggles and dreams made the achievement of being called to the Bar more emotional.

“I dedicate it to him. I would have been here with him because we were together everywhere, but today he is not here with me. The pain is passing law school exams, and I dedicate my own to him wherever he is. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.

Adjei later took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to express gratitude to people who supported him during his studies. He wrote:

“I am truly grateful to you all for the love shown to me, and may the good Lord bless you all. Thanks to Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim (Minister for Local Government) for the support he provided during my time at the faculty while pursuing my LLB. I appreciate him a lot.”
