Ex-Minister Sues Husband Over ‘Second Wife’

THE PUBLISHER can confirm on authority that a former Deputy Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Rachel Florence Nana Adjoa Appoh has dragged her husband, Samuel Poku before an Accra High Court for bigamy.

The plaintiff wants her husband to answer before the matrimonial court why he married a Jamaican-Canadian in Canada when the two are still legally married in Ghana.

The papers source close to the family insists that Samuel who married Appoh in 2013 is currently based in Canada with his new wife and baby.

Samuel who was the Health and Safety Coordinator for West Africa for Halliburton Oil Company based in Takoradi grabbed the Deputy Minister and love of his life for 13 years in holy matrimony on December 13, 2013 at the Dr. Wayat Church of Pentecost in Accra.

According to reports Rachel met her husband 13 years ago while she was studying at the Cape Coast Polytechnic and dated for about a decade now.

But, the husband of the former Gomoa Central Member of Parliament, THE PUBLISHER also gathered was able to contract the new marriage as a result of fake divorce documents he secured in Ghana while in Canada in 2015.

A statement of case the paper has sighted also sued the judge (name withheld for now) who annulled the matrimonial without notifying the ex-minister.

Equally liable according to the suit as a defendant is a Director at Foreign Affairs who signed the supposed fictitious documents which aided Samuel to contract the new marriage.

Meanwhile, the paper has sighted pictures of the new love birds celebrating their wedding anniversary with their new baby on Facebook.

When contacted for comments the former Gomoa Central MP declined to comment on the issue except to indicate that the issue in her words “is a private affair”.

She however, did not confirm or deny the fact that her husband has gotten a new wife or either she was part of any court process or procedures annulling her current marriage.
