A Medical doctor and professional model, Chiaky Otuteye has sued Cloudz Entertainment after the organisers withdrew her Miss Intercontinental Ghana title weeks after crowning her.
The case was heard in court on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Chiaky won the Miss Intercontinental Ghana pageant on November 8, 2025. However, weeks later, the organizers removed her title and gave it to another contestant. They said they took the decision due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, which was shared on social media on February 21, 2026, Chiaky explained what happened.
The dethroned queen said the Vice President of Cloudz Entertainment called her one evening and asked her to attend an emergency meeting with her mother.
“They emphasized that when I am coming, I should bring my crown and sash. That was when I got fully suspicious because they said it was an official meeting. Initially I was suspicious but then I felt there would be something fishy,” she narrated.
At the meeting, she said the organisers showed her a sheet of paper with email correspondence between them and their international partners.
“Apparently, the international organisation was saying that they had received some emails from some concerned people that I did not meet their standards for the international pageant. And based on this they had made a decision to disqualify me,” she said.
Chiaky said she asked which standards she failed to meet. She said the document mentioned poise, beauty, charm, intelligence and body.
“With all these things they were very subjective. The only objective ones were that they said one should be a natural born female which I am, you should also be fully a Ghanaian national. I am fully Ghanaian. I also met the body requirements,” she said.
Before the meeting, Chiaky said she faced heavy trolling on social media after the event’s official blogger posted a video of her. She said many people mocked her looks and described her as “not beautiful” and “undeserving” of the crown. She added that the cyberbullying caused her emotional distress.
In an official press statement, the organisers announced that she would not represent Ghana at the 53rd Miss Intercontinental pageant scheduled to take place in Egypt from January 14 to 31, 2026.
They stated that “due to unforeseen circumstances, as a result, we have made a difficult decision to appoint a new Queen as our representative to represent Ghana.”
The organisers are yet to respond directly to the allegations.
