FINALLY! Buju Banton Out Of Prison

Legendary reggae star Mark Myrie, known to many as Buju Banton is finally a free man after spending 7 years in an American prison. Buju Banton was released from the McRae Correctional Facility in Georgia, US on Friday, December 7.

He arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston with fans and reggae music lovers storm the airport to welcome the music legend.

Whiles fans were waiting and hoping to see the Grammy Award-winning singer, however, the entertainer was routed through another exit and taken to the police Harman Barracks for processing.

As reported by a cross section of the world media, Buju had served seven years in prison after he was found guilty of intent to deal more than five kilograms of cocaine.

He was previously scheduled to be released in 2019, however, his release day was last year changed to December 8, 2018.

Days after his conviction, Buju Banton won a Grammy Award for his album Before Dawn. His other albums include ‘Til Shiloh (1995), Inna Heights (1997) and Unchained Spirit (2000).
