The health facility which could have only be completed through the help of the Rebecca Foundation is now opened for public use.

According to the Mrs. Akufo-Addo her foundation is ready to support any effort that seeks to provide proper health service to the people of Ghana.

“I am glad that this facility is now a fully furnished functional NHIS Accredited CHPS Compound, able to provide preventive and treatment services and refer patients to bigger health centres,” she said.

The First Lady added the facility will “certainly ensure that the community has a necessary compliment of basic health service, especially for maternal and child health.”

She therefore appealed to the public to support government to make the healthcare more accessible and available for all Ghanaians.

The facility Mr. Appiah said, will serve as a permanent accommodation for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) operations in the municipality.

“We have also collaborated with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to fence the Kpone health centre to make the place safe and secured from encroachers,” he added.

Mr. Appiah extended immerse gratitude to Rebecca’s Foundation for partnering with the Kpone Katamanso Municipality to complete the CHPS Compound.

The facility is serviced by two community health nurses, a midwife and a staff nurse.
